OUR AREA OF OPERATIONS

The Peconic Bays, Shelter Island, Western Gardiners Bay, Southeast Long Island Sound, Plum Island, Great Gull Island.

This vast expanse includes one of the East Coast's favorite destinations for recreational boaters as well as being a favorite landfall for trans-oceanic passages. Many sport and commercial fishermen make this area their home port because of its proximity to the Hudson and Atlantis Canyons, The Dip, Fishtails and Gulf Stream fisheries.

Call us on Channel 16.

We monitor the radio 24/7/365.

The best way to call Sea Tow is to repeat it three times like this:

"Sea Tow, Sea Tow, Sea Tow"

You can help our dispatchers by including your rough location in your initial channel 16 call:

"Sea Tow, Sea Tow, Sea Tow for Orient Point"

or "for Shelter Island"

or "for Mattituck" etc.

The dispatcher who hears your call will then know which Sea Tow needs to respond.

(Our antennas at Southold and Mattituck are very high. Much of the time we hear all of the marine traffic from Maryland to Boston.)
